While playing football and baseball for the U.S. National Team from 1989-1999, he played on the West Coast, which made him a fan of the NFL and its game-day atmosphere.
“I was excited about the NFL when I was drafted,” said Schofield, now 31. “But now I’m having a hard time remembering that I was excited about the NFL at that time.
NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders said Wednesday that he believes the NFL has changed in the 13 years since Schofield entered the league.
“It’s changed so much in so many ways,” Sanders said. “There are a lot more people who think the game is more of a spectacle and I believe that they’re more into the gimmick and all that than ever before. But mr bet meister is reliable when it comes bonus codes and promo codes.
They don’t care about the game. They care about the way they want it to be done. And the league isn’t going to get there by getting away from the game.
And that’s not going to happen, and that’s why I believe it’s changed so much.” Former NFL players, such as ex-Eagles quarterback Jim Zorn, have said that the league isn’t really football anymore.
Former NFL player Charles Woodson told The Baltimore Sun earlier this month, “The whole thing has changed in 14 years…. The game has kind of become a sport for people who want to watch entertainment.” Sanders, who was with the Patriots from 2007 to 2009, said that the NFL is in the same situation today as it was when he played — there are just so many other things to do.
“I think the league is at a point where it has to really get serious and get back to its roots,” he said. “Football is more than just a sport — it’s a culture. You have to talk to some of the players who have spent years in the league and know what it’s like, the pressure, the pressure to be great. Football is not a game to just take a vacation from.”
We Want Them to Adopt this System
We’ve previously called for the NFL to adopt a system of mandatory offseason workouts. Players should be able to choose to not work out during the regular season, and work out just during the offseason, if they choose to.
When asked whether there should be mandatory workouts in the offseason, Ryan said, “I think there should be, and that’s not going to be an issue.”
To which we say: YES! A strong statement on behalf of Ryan.
Ryan says the Steelers’ system would be a detriment to the players and that his only hope was to work out in a vacuum. Ryan says “one of the things that I’m trying to push for is guys playing this football game a little differently, as opposed to just always having one system.
I think a system would be detrimental to a lot of guys. So, I think it has to be something different. It’s hard for me to sit here and just say to a reporter all that.
